Meet the Team
Above: Dr Ainslee in the pink dress, the dashing lad beside her is her husband. Don't be fooled, she certainly DOES NOT look this fancy when she is in practice.
Welcome to Live Chiropractic!
My name is Ainslee Roughan I am a Chiropractor and the owner of Live.
A bit about me:
I love to ride mountain bike's and walk my dog (she's as crazy as I am). I obviously also love adjusting humans and most likely will care more about your health than you do (I'm working on this and trying to care less, but failing miserably).
Life goals include catching a wild bird (have you ever tried to catch a wild chicken? So hard!)
I struggle to keep pot plants alive and often wonder who cleans the road cones at road works BUT recently witnessed a road worker cleaning the road cones with a rag (life ponders answered #stoked).
My spirit animal (according to an internet quiz) is a wolf, but I have been told I'm a closer to an albatross than a wolf. They are two rather different animals...
Lastly I need to confess that I am a total NORPIE (normal hippie) it's what new age hippies like to call themselves, i like to do yoga, eat vegetables I've attempted to grow, practice mindfulness, use natural deodorant (please inform me if I stink), I also LOVE matcha/tumeric lattes and generally stay well via hippie "organic and natural" ways.
The boring stuff you probably want to know:
I attended New Zealand College of Chiropractic, Graduating in 2012 and have continued training and learning the latest knowledge and techniques. I also hold a postgraduate certificate in Applied Kinesiology and regularly attend seminars and courses. Staying on top of the latest knowledge is important so I can provide kick ass Chiropractic care for you.
I love a challenge outside of chiropractic and believe it is part of life to continually test my boundaries. It is good for the mind, body and soul to set large goals, work hard and achieve them. In February 2015, I completed the Speights Coast to Coast - a 2-day individual multi sport event traversing the South Island. Hard work and perseverance paid off, I was very proud to finish second place overall in the female 2 day individual (these days this is about the only place I get to brag about getting second seeings it was SO LONG ago.)
Along with keeping active, I love my family (like most people), friends (who doesn't, they keep us sane), reading and yoga (total NORPIE).
Unlocking your potential is what life is all about, you can only get that if you strive for the best in yourself. I would love to help you reach your potential and I can't wait to meet you at Live Chiropractic!
